At present, we mainly use the following methods to identify stainless steel:

The whole stainless steel is generally sourced from steel factory orders or imports from foreign countries, as well as overstocked processing commodities. The identification method of stainless steel varies with its source.

1. To identify the stainless steel materials imported or ordered by the steel factory, it is generally only necessary to check the marks on the steel or packaging according to the quality certificate of the imported or steel factory (hereinafter referred to as the warranty).

The quality certificate is the supplier's confirmation and guarantee for the inspection results of this batch of products. Therefore, the quality certificate not only states the name, specification, number of delivered pieces, weight and delivery status of materials. Moreover, all inspection results of specified guarantee items must be stated.

Similarly, in order to facilitate management, avoid confusion and prevent use accidents caused by confusion. The manufacturer shall mark the brand, batch number, status, specification, quantity, manufacturer code and other marks on the materials or packages. The marks marked shall be consistent with the quality certificate. There are three common marking methods:

(1) Color painting - paint the specified part of the material with the color indicating its brand;

(2) Printing - steel seal or spray print shall be made at the specified position of the material to indicate the brand, specification and furnace number of the material

Etc. Stamping is often used on thick steel plates or large and medium section steels.

(3) Tagging - hang tags indicating brand, batch number, specification, quantity, etc. on bundled or boxed materials.

The signs of stainless steel materials are generally printed and listed.

2. The society overstocked stainless steel. According to the length of interest deposit backlog and the quality of storage, there are generally two situations:

First, the overstock time is not long, and the custody (maintenance) is good. The handling unit not only keeps the original quality certificate or copy, but also has complete and clear marks on the steel or steel. For the identification of this stainless steel, just check the marks on the steel or packaging according to the warranty.

The other is that the steel has been overstocked for a long time, and the storage is not perfect. There is no quality certificate, and the marks on the steel or packaging are no longer obvious or fall off. For the identification of this type of stainless steel, it is mainly necessary to conduct in-depth investigation and research, and consult the original documents from the processing unit. Generally speaking, the original documents such as invoices are marked with steel grades. If there is no steel grade, you must also consult the local price regulation data at that time to determine the steel grade based on the price. This is a relatively effective method to determine the steel grade, but it is often easy to be conspicuous. Therefore, it is necessary to master the identification method of real objects.
